This site has been developed from a funded project by The HE Academy 2010 -12. The project explored student identities, particularly formations of gender, class and race and pedagogic practices and relations in the HE classroom. You can find out more about the project here http://www.roehampton.ac.uk/Research-Centres/Centre-for-Educational-Research-in-Equalities-Policy-and-Pedagogy/Current-Research-Projects/Formations-of-Gender-and-Higher-Education-Pedagogies-(GaP)/
It provides resources to prompt thinking about teaching and learning in HE for:
- certificates in Learning and Teaching in HE
- professional development sessions for academic staff or course teams
- individuals who want to enhance their pedagogic practice
It has student voices, those of academic staff and critical pedagogy at its core:
- we talked to more than 70 UK undergraduate students about their experiences of learning. Use their voices to prompt people to think about pedagogic practices
- we held focus groups with more than 50 UK academic staff across Business, Computing Sport Science, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Classics and Dance
- we used a particpative methodology and take a critical approach to pedagogic practices
